Mulberry [Ubi 1663]

Ubi, or purple yam, is among the country’s most popular food crops. Known to grow best in Bohol than anywhere else in the Philippines, the province celebrates the Ubi Festival every year in honor of this purple yam. The year 1663 also marks the Spanish retreat from their ongoing invasion of Mindanao and Zamboanga. Mulberry [Ubi 1663] recreates the color palette of this tasty, little root crop and celebrates the spirit of resistance.
